Sale Description:
We have the pleasure to liquidate the collection of Carolyn E. Oliver, an interior designer in Pasadena.  Items span the board from traditional antiques to mid-century.  We have treasures for everyone including one-of-a-kind accessories, home decor, knick-knacks and the perfect gifts just in time for the holiday season.

About the designer:

Carolyn E. Oliver, Design Studio and Atelier, for over two decades has been located in Pasadena's historic Theatre District. Several of her historic restoration projects have been showcased in: The Home Section, LA Times; LA Magazine; CBS's Beautiful Homes and Great Estates and PBS's FIND! hosted by the Keno Brothers. Oliver was hired as a consultant to revitalize the Home Shop, a LA County Museum of Art retail venue. Oliver participated as a selected designer for seven consecutive years of the nation's largest house and garden tour, The Pasadena Showcase House of Design. For six consecutive years she was chosen as a selected designer for the LA Assistance League of Southern California Hancock Park Design House.

For over two decades Oliver has been a Board Member, Art Center One Hundred, Art Center College of Design. As a former Pacific Asia Museum Trustee, Oliver co-chaired the Museum's successful 40th Anniversary celebration securing Tiffany's as a sponsor. A member of Pasadena Art Alliance, whose mission is to foster appreciation for contemporary visual arts in Southern California, Oliver has completed the International Society of Appraisers course work and serves as an expert witness. Prior to opening Oliver's, she was the first woman Executive Director, Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce, the second largest in the world. Oliver has recently opened a second design studio in Carlsbad, North San Diego County.

Carolyn will continue to travel all over the world in search of great design and home fashion. Oliver’s will reopen in January 2016, with an emphasis on natural woods, organic materials and modern hand-made artisan pieces. A decade ago while working with former Pasadena design clients in Muskoka, Ontario (the so-called “Hamptons of Canada”), she encountered Claus Pummer, Natural by Design – a world-renowned interior and furniture designer in Muskoka. Claus is a German native with a clean, contemporary design aesthetic and she began a decade long collaboration that resulted in a special friendship.

More and more, Carolyn’s design work demands her to be in different areas all over the country and Canada to support her long tenured design clients. Her colleague Claus exclusively represents two fine European lines in North America – Lambert – the vast collection from Germany of artisan crafted, modern home furniture, furnishings, and lighting and Samina – the healthy sleep system hand-made in Austria made with only natural and organic materials. Our world is ever changing and she is excited to feature Lambert and Samina starting in the New Year with fresh artisan contemporary home furnishings and gifts.
